Gangsta Battle on the 5 Springbank

While growing up, we are all taught to do, or not to do, things without reasonable explanation of why. From the ages of circa 2-10 parents teach based on principles of repetition, in the hopes that if something is iterated enough times, it will be accepted without quesion. One such lesson, for me, was that important life skill of avoiding “a scene”. Always I’d been told “don’t make a scene,” but it was never made clear to me what it was. I could hardly identify a scene, let alone produce one. However, now that my scene-training has been complete for nine years, one month and nine days, I can say with great surety that what I experienced on a the way home from work today was, in fact, a scene.
