Silent Podcast

Friday, April 21st, 2006

So, I noticed as I browsed to my FeedBurner feed with Firefox, FeedBurner advertises my feed as a podcast, which it’s not primarily, (I just wanted the advantage of enclosures in my syndicated content if I so choose to try audio blogging). Nevertheless, I would hate to deprive avid podcast subscribers, though, so I’ve linked a little something above to put me on the exponentially-growing amateur-AV-media-publisher map.  As noted in the file name, I did not produce the song, it’s just about me.

If Your Life Was a Movie, What Genre Would It Be?

Monday, April 17th, 2006

Yes, I was bored, very bored. I’d have to say that I like the genre, not so much the description, and even less the movie matches.

Erotic Thriller
You’ve made your own rules in life - and sometimes that catches up with you.
Winding a web of deceit comes naturally, and no one really knows the true you.
Your best movie matches: Swimming Pool, Unfaithful, The Crush

Easter Update: Resurrecting Jesus, Et Al.

Friday, April 14th, 2006

In honour of Easter weekend, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus (pbuh), I thought it would be fitting to publish info about a couple of “Beta” projects being resurrected on the White Raven Network.

First cronologically is HoPoCast, the official podcast of Hodge Podge Radio, produced by DJ Xivanari and myself. Hodge Podge Radio began as a ShoutCast server hosted on The White Raven Network. Although HoPo Radio’s ShoutCast was last broadcast ages ago, a few weeks ago Xiv and I were talking about podcasting technology and the possibility that syndicated MP3’s might be an easier way to manage “online radio”. Eventually, we decided to bring back Hodge Podge Radio in a podcast format: HoPoCast. HoPoCast is syndicated through Xivanari’s Blog. The syndicate feed (subscription link) can be found here.

Another project being brought back in The White Raven Network Archives. Some of you may remember the archives as one of the focuses around the original white-raven.net. For those of you who don’t, this might jog your memory (or maybe not, I don’t know). The resurrection of this project will feature even more templates for posting custom content types, and a new rating system that incorporates periodic contests and awards, all supported through the Drupal CMS. I am currently looking for Drupal, Theming, PHP/MySQL developers to help with this project. The White Raven Network Archives project description can be found here. If you would like to become a developer, administrator or moderator for The White Raven Network Archives, please contact me.
